Colorado College Student Profile: Amy Rubin

Amy Rubin
Amy is a senior at CC (graduating in 2009) originally from Englewood, Colorado. She is majoring in Dance and Biochemistry, and truly enjoys the beautiful moments when the two majors combine in odd and interesting ways. She grew up doing gymnastics, and when the time came to go to college, and she had to give up gymnastics, she quickly found a new passion…dance.

She finds that the beauty of movement and the physical challenge of technique combine to create an expressive outlet that is magic in so many ways. It has truly shaped her experience at CC and she feels so fortunate to have stumbled into this wonderful art.

For Amy, dance is therapy. In fact, she hopes to one day incorporate dance into a career in medicine working with kids with special needs. She is thankful to have found a department full of amazing professors and wonderful peers…a place where she can really explore her creativity. Amy especially enjoys her technique classes, and her participation in the Faculty dance concerts and the student run Dance Workshop.
