CC’s Business and Community Allicance Board Meeting Recap: Sept. 30, 2008
Our first B & CA (Business and Community Alliance) meeting of the ’08 year took place on the CC campus September 30, 2008. We are excited to kick-off the year with this list of initial action items:
1) Community perception of CC survey: Generate a list of 5 – 7 survey questions for a “community perception of CC” survey–we will review, edit and get a consensus from the Board on the questions, then create on online survey instrument and distribute as widely as possible. We will also gather audio clips on the topic of CC’s community perception, and post these files to this TigerBCA.com website to engage community dialogue.
2) Entrepreneurial Panel program: Move forward with planning an Entrepreneurial Panel program that B&CA can host this year. We need a team of 2-3 volunteers to help make this happen. The panel will have a dual purpose: to encourage and help CC students (and others–students or not) wondering about career paths and what it’s like to be an entrepreneur (and possible careers that could build their future here in Colorado Springs), and to educate the public about how much CC grads have contributed to our local economy and community by their entrepreneurial efforts.
3) CC’s Community Impact: Gather stories showing the positive impact Colorado College has in the Colorado Springs Community. The goal is to feature one new snap shot per month using our email marketing tool and the TigerBCA.com website as vehicles to get the word out.
4) Launch Connie’s Blog: Create an area of the TigerBCA.com site that Connie will manage. We can look forward to reading random thoughts, musings, and even some facts! Note: Just days after our Board meeting, the Connie’s Blog is off and running! Connie is actively using it and hopes all of our posts can start a dialogue where we share comments and thoughts with each other.
If you are a Board member, or community member who has thoughts to share on these topics, please take a minute to use the Comments section below. Your input is vital to our success, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Taa and Connie –
count me in on helping with the Entrepreneurial panel. And when it comes to the issues to be highlighted monthly to demonstrate CC’s impact in the community, I could focus on the social/volunteer aspect, although I truly wish to see the economic impact presented well, and if no one wants that, I’ll bite the bullet and make it happen.
Anyone else want to join me?
Deb – I love the idea of you starting out with the social/volunteer focus. Do you need help gathering a list of potential names? If you could interview some local CC grads (via email), then we can post a story on this site featuring the alumni and highlighting their local social impact. And if the people you speak with can send you a photo, we’ll add that too!
Thanks!

Great job, Taa! This meeting was a strong start to our year. I sure hope to see some comments and engagement from our fellow B&CA folks here soon.
Thanks,
