Southern Colorado Women’s Luncheon posted by Taa Dixon
On Aug. 19, I had the opportunity to attend a luncheon sponsored by the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber. Colorado College sponsored a table, and I had the privilege of getting to enjoy lunch with a variety of people connected to local business as well as CC. The event was well-attended and provided ample time for networking.
The featured speaker was Dr. Nancy Saltzman, Colorado College class of 1974. Her inspirational message ended with a reminder to keep things in perspective, and to find the joy in every day. Nancy is a true survivor and a fantastic speaker! Click here to visit Nancy’s website.
C.J. Moore (last year’s winner) announced the 2008 Business Leader of the Year Award winner – Joy Love. Joy is a fascinating woman – she runs Eagle19 Consulting and is a professor of Mathematics at UCCS. I enjoyed meeting Joy & her husband after the event, and I appreciate the fact that the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber hosts this great event every year.

I’m a new member of the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, but I have been very impressed with their events in the past, and this was a terrific luncheon. Nancy Saltzman is such an inspiration, and I really want to get to know Joy Love. It’s wonderful when you take time you can barely scratch out of a hectic day for an event, but it leaves you refreshed and motivated.
