Christo and Jeanne-Claude Lecture – Jan 23

Where: Packard Hall, 5 W. Cache La Poudre St.
What: Renowned artists and collaborators Christo and Jeanne-Claude will present a free lecture about their collaborative public art installations. The talk will address two current projects: Over the River: Project for the Arkansas River, Colorado, and The Mastaba: Project for the United Arab Emirates. Tentatively scheduled for 2012, “Over the River” will consist of fabric panels suspended horizontally over the Arkansas River. Originally conceived in 1977 and still in the planning stages, “The Mastaba” is a structure created from recycled oil barrels that will be larger than the pyramids at Giza.
